REAL GIRLS, REAL LIFE  visit the site
The latest project from Empowerment Media is an exciting new series called REAL GIRLS, REAL LIFE REAL GIRLS is an innovative cross between a cutting-edge talk show and a reality television show.  Five young women (age 19-123) are challenged to join a revolution…of real girls discovering how to live their lives beautifully by making positive life choices.  Among the issues explored:

  • Body Image – The great secret struggle of young women
  • Beauty – It’s NOT what the magazines say.  Beauty enhancers and beauty busters.  Plus what beauty REALLY is!
  • Charm School – Whatever happened to “ladies”, respect, and manners?
  • Relationships – They don’t fulfill what many young women are looking for.  They meet weekly with the show co-hosts at a fabulous house, converse with interesting guests and experts, enjoy a number of recurring characters and features, and then.  The show is actually part reality series, part talk show.  It follows five “real girls” from the ages of 19 to 23 as they search to discover how to “Live Life Beautifully”.

The new show has everything a girl wants….a good cry, a good laugh, good friends, and insight into guys.  But what truly sets it apart is its hard-hitting truth about the REAL challenges young women face today.... and how to live life beautifully in this complicated world.

“ What you're doing is not only important crucial to my generation. I'm sixteen years old, a sophomore in high school and I watch my friends and peers make destructive, ignorant decisions continually. It breaks my heart to see people I know and care about ruin their reputations, families, and their futures for the attention or acceptance of people in equally unstable positions. Your programs could significantly change the outlook of not only our futures but the futures of generations succeeding ours. I, myself would love to learn to live my own life beautifully!”
Katy Strasser/November 2007

“ I like the basic message of the show, how its not focused on only one aspect of our lives, but teaches ways to become all around better, happier, and healthier people. There are really bad influences in body image, diet, and other important subjects to people my age in magazines and really, just everywhere. It's nice to know that I have a reliable source to count on for that kind of information. Your show is updated and interesting though, its reality tv, which is, generationally, what we're into.
Viewer, November, 2007

All of EMI’s shows have received a tremendous response from all over the country. Viewer comments echo the same theme…the most attractive part of each of these series is that they are INCREDIBLY RELEVANT!  They reach out to the MTV generation where they are and pack a powerful punch of values that is so desperately needed in the lives of teens and pre-teens. The show topics are also incredibly relevant…right out of the lives of young people everywhere.

ULTIMATE CHOICE   visit the site
In the beginning we realized to win the hearts and souls of young people we had to first capture their imagination and pique their interest. We accomplished this with our first series, ULTIMATE CHOICE by creating a highly entertaining television show packed with adventure, extreme sports, cutting edge music and real life drama.

But unlike anything else on TV, ULTIMATE CHOICE delivered compelling and candid conversations about the issues that most concern teens and young adults. But instead glorifying self-indulgence and poor choices, ULTIMATE CHOICE elevated virtue, self-control and positive choices through the voices of our incredible cast. The result: The truth was told and lives were changed!

“About a year and a half ago I started drinking because it SEEMED like the right thing to do.  All my friends were doing it and I thought it was the only thing to do that was FUN.  But I didn’t like the fact that I had to lie to my Mom in order to have simple fun. I came home one night after going out, fell asleep, woke up and turned on the TV only to find the show ULTIMATE CHOICE.  I felt like it was directed specifically towards me, telling me to change my ways in order to achieve my goals in the future.  Ever since then, I wait for the show to come on every Saturday!   I still go out on the weekends, but surprisingly, I don’t do any of the drinking anymore because I know that’s not what I need to have fun.”  (Jessica Khan)

“There is so much stuff going on in school like drugs, sex, and being accepted. I want to say thank you for ULTIMATE CHOICE because you all have taught me that doing things just because everyone else does it is not always the right choice because it can affect your life forever. The show made me think about why am I living up to other people’s standards to be accepted. I need to make my own choices and do what I think is right. That will help me in life to accomplish my goals. Thank you for showing me this.  I wanted you guys to know that the show’s had a big impact on my life.”  (Miranda, 17-year old)

ULTIMATE CHOICE FAMILY EDITION  visit the site
Building on the success of four seasons and 63 episodes of ULTIMATE CHOICE, in 2007 we created a spin-off of UC, called ULTIMATE CHOICE Family Edition….same theme, same style…we just replaced the young adults with four families.  And with that diverse group of families, we explored the issues that ALL families face today.  We also introduced a couple of experts, Dr. Drew Edwards and Dr. Pam Mullarkey, to help teach parents and children how to better communicate with each other.
